No mercy for traffic offenders: KZN premier

KZN Government to clamp down on road traffic offenders

March 06, 2008, 21:30

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sbu Ndebele says there will be no mercy for traffic offenders in the province during the Easter holidays.

Ndebele was addressing thousands of mourners in Durban on Thursday. They were remembering the 32 people who died in three road accidents in the province on Monday.

Ndebele says the deaths were a direct result of the blatant disregard of the law. He says drivers and road users are begining to ignore safety regulations. He says police and road traffic officials will be out in full force to ensure that roads are safer during the easter period.
