No bright lights forecast for tonight
|
March 05, 2008, 16:30
Eskom has warned that the possibility of deliberate power cuts tonight is high. In a statement, the power utility forecasts that the system will be constrained during evening peak hours between 6pm and 9pm tonight.
Eskom says there've been no major power cuts since February 4, due to industrial customers reducing their demand by 10%.
However, officials say that while generation plant performance and the coal supply situation have improved, the problem still needs to be shared across all sectors of society. - Sapa
