Roads flooded after heavy rains in Johannesburg

February 05, 2008, 06:45

Johannesburg metro police have warned motorists of flooded roads around the city. Spokesperson Edna Mamonyane has urged motorists to slow down on the M1 freeway at the Jan Smuts and Empire Road off-ramps because of the floods.

Floods have been reported in Florida on Goldenman Street opposite the police station, and Weltevreden Park on the corner of Steek and Hek Streets. There are also floods in Horizon at the corner of Sonap and Main Roads on the West Rand.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes.
