Residents of greater Johannesburg were warned to exercise care on the roads due to heavy rainfalls in the city, the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) said today.
"Residents are warned against walking on the roads when it is raining, and around rivers, bridges, open manholes and storm water drains ... these continuing rainfalls are highly dangerous to life and property," said the JRA's Marketing and Communications Manager, Siphiwo Mxhosa.
"We will continue to ensure that our teams are always available to assist."
The warning comes after recent flooding in Soweto and greater Johannesburg. - Sapa
