The names of the victims of yesterday's plane crash at the Swartberg Mountains near Oudtshoorn have been released.

The pilot was 51-year old Philip Ginsberg from Tshwane. His girlfriend Aletta Bezuidenhout from Mossel Bay, and her 2 teenage daughters also died. They were on their way to Tshwane.

The family's Cherokee aircraft ploughed into the mountain-side in misty conditions yesterday. Civil Aviation experts began their investigation at the crash-site earlier today.

Family members of the deceased identified the bodies this afternoon, at a mortuary in Oudtshoorn.
