The three women, who died in the light aircraft crash at the Swartberg Mountains near Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo yesterday, are believed to be from the same family in Mossel Bay.
The male pilot, who also died in the incident, is from Johannesburg. The identities of the deceased will, however, only be released once their families have identified the bodies.
Civil Aviation Authority experts have started their investigation into the cause of the accident, at the crash site. It's still not clear where the aircraft took off from and what its destination was.
The Cherokee 180 aircraft ploughed into the mountain side in misty conditions.
