Toddler survives 6 metre fall at Joburg mall

September 02, 2007, 16:30

A four year old boy has sustained fractures to the side of his face, following a 6.8 meter fall from a balcony at a mall in Cresta, north of Johannesburg.

Netcare 911's spokesperson, Nick Dollman, says eyewitnesses who were sitting at the food court one floor below, say they just saw the boy falling. One man tried to catch him but failed.

Dollman says even though the man couldn't catch the boy, the four year old is extremely lucky. The boy is in a stable condition in hospital.
