Doctors and nurses at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital say they will demonstrate on the grounds of the hospital following the rape of a medical student on the hospitals' premises on Monday.
The march will commence at lunchtime tomorrow from the Glen Thomas building, to the administration building where a memo will be handed over to the hospital's CEO and possibly the MEC for health. Anna Sporaso, one of the organizers of the march, says the incident has left many students and staff shocked and angry.
Meanwhile police has urged the raped student nurse to come forward and lay charges against perpetrators. It is alleged that the student was running an errand from the hospital's gynaecology unit to the blood blank when she was raped along the way.
Thembi Nkhwashu, a police spokesperson, says anyone with information on the incident must contact Diepkloof police station.
