The Limpopo department of economic development, environment and tourism has confiscated more than 200 cycads which were being illegally kept at a farm called in the Ha-Sekororo area. This follows a tip-off.
Three suspects are expected to appear before the Gravelote Magistrate's Court next week.
Moss Tseli, the departmental spokesperson, says investigations into the matter by the department began on Monday. Tseli has also commended community members for assisting in making what he terms 'a breakthrough' in the fight against the illegal keeping of cycads.
