Khutsong learners on a recovery plan programme at the Vuselela College near Taung in the North West will write their matric examinations as planned.
This is in spite of clashes between learners and villagers on Tuesday night following a fight between learners and members of the community at a tavern on Saturday.
The North West Education Department's Charles Raseala says examinations will continue as there is no time to register a new examination centre.
He says the learners have made a commitment not to leave the campus until they have finished writing their exams. The grade 12 learners were taken to Taung's Vuselela College some weeks ago to make up for the schooling lost during the demarcation protests at Khutsong.
