The former head of Fidentia, J. Arthur Brown, is likely to spend tonight in the Milnerton Medi- Clinic after he was allegedly assaulted by prisoners.

His lawyer, William Booth, says his client was examined by a doctor in Cape Town. According to Booth, Brown was assaulted after leaving the Cape Town Magistrate's Court en route to Pollsmoor prison. He suffered bruises to his face.

Magistrate Vusi Mhlanga ruled today that Brown remain in custody until next week Monday when he is to apply for bail. He faces new charges of theft, money laundering and fraud.
