J Arthur Brown.

May 13, 2008, 11:00
Lawyers of the former head of the Fidentia group of companies, J Arthur Brown, have dismissed perceptions that their client is trying to get special treatment while in prison. This after Brown indicated that he wanted to be detained in the Milnerton Medi-Clinic under police guard while receiving medical attention.
Brown's lawyer, William Booth, has told the Cape Town Magistrate's Court that they are not asking for special treatment.
Brown is facing charges of theft, money laundering and fraud. His case was postponed to next Monday. But Booth has warned that they will approach the court tomorrow in order to compel the State to detain Brown in the Milnerton Medi-Clinic if his doctor believed his injuries needed special attention. He will in the meantime be detained at the Cape Town police station.
