The widow of Noby Ngombane, Nokwanda is expected to be cross-examined today in the murder inquest of her husband, who was the political advisor to the Free State Premier. Nokwanda started testifying yesterday after the Bloemfontein magistrate hearing the case ruled that she and her relatives should provide oral evidence.
Nokwanda has so far told the court that on the night of Ngombane’s murder in 2005, they were watching DVD's when a car pulled up at their driveway. She says she heard gunshots and found Ngombane on the kitchen floor bleeding from gunshot wounds.
She reiterated her belief that her husband's murder was politically motivated, and asked the court to widen its investigations.
