Lawyer justifies move by J Arthur Brown's wife

Brown's wife, Susan, and their children has left the country

The lawyer of embattled Fidentia boss J Arthur Brown, Rashaad Khan, has denied that Brown's wife, Susan, has fled the country to escape arrest in connection with the Fidentia scandal. Khan says Mrs Brown has received an employment offer in Australia.

He says the negative publicity on Fidentia had made it difficult for her to get employment in the country. Khan has also revealed that the State was granted a warrant of arrest for the couple on April 3.

The warrant is in relation to the new charges that Brown is set to face today in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court. Brown was arrested on charges of theft, fraud and money laundering on Friday.
