Brown's wife is now sought by the NPA
|
May 09, 2008, 17:15
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that former Fidentia boss J Arthur Brown has been detained. NPA spokesperson Tlali Tlali says Brown's wife, Susan, has fled the country.
Tlali did not divulge much other than that Susan and her children are no longer in the country.
Last month the embattled Fidentia boss shuffled between the Cape Town Magistrate's Court and the regional court in two separate cases. The charges relate to alleged misappropriation of R5 million belonging to a loyalty card business, Infinity, as well as alleged fraud of R4.5 million against a company which supplied equipment to mines in Zambia.
One of the masterminds in the Fidentia saga, Steven Goodwin - who fled the country - was last month arrested by the FBI in the US soon after the scandal became public.
