The murder inquest of the former political advisor to the Free State Premier, Noby Ngombane in the Bloemfontein High court, has heard that his widow and other family members should not testify.
Their defence argued that they have already gone through enough trauma. The defence says the court could use their affidavits as they are sufficient and would help the court to reach a well-informed finding.
However, the State argues that it is in the best interest of the public that all concerned parties must provide oral evidence as it is the primary function of an inquest. The State also argued that they were all at the house when the deceased was shot in 2005. They would therefore be the best suited people to assist the court in establishing what transpired on that night.
