KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sbu Ndebele has been the latest victim of crime. His house in Durban has been burgled.
His office confirmed the incident. Spokesperson, Logan Maistry says the incident happened this morning and police are still investigating. Maistry says police will release further information on the break-in later today.
Provincial police commissioner, Hamilton Ngidi, is also expected to release a statement on the incident.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that President Thabo Mbeki's official residence in Arcadia, Pretoria had been broken into. Police say a safety aluminium wire fitted to the roof of Mbeki's house was stolen over the long weekend.
The R30 000 wire was meant to intensify safety against lightning. Sunnyside police spokesperson Mirna Von Benecker says no suspects have been arrested so far.
