A man has been beaten and killed by an angry mob in Garankuwa, north of Pretoria, after he allegedly attempted to rob a business, Pretoria police said yesterday.
Police spokesperson, Sarah Lesabane, said the man, who was about 30-years-old, attempted to rob a business in Zone 5 around 9pm on Wednesday night. The community members saw him, assaulted him and he died at the scene, she said.
Five men, between the ages of 30 and 40, were arrested and charged with murder. They were expected to appear in the Garankuwa Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
