Parliament's Correctional Services Committee (PCS) is now calling on the South African Police Services to hunt down a French National awaiting trial detainee who disappeared from the Johannesburg Maximum Prison a week ago. PCS Chairperson, Dennis Bloem, says the suspect is dangerous and also on Interpol's list.
The French national disappeared from the maximum security prison after he was allegedly booked out by two men and women dressed in police uniform. Bloem says police should speed up their manhunt.
He believes they can arrest the suspect as swiftly as they arrested notorious Mozambican awaiting trial detainee Ananias Mathe more than a year ago.
