Tlali says security for individual prosecutors is a matter between the NPA and the prosecutor

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says one of the alleged masterminds in the Fidentia corruption case, Steven Goodwin, has been detained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States.
NPA spokesperson Tlali Tlali says Goodwin left South Africa in February last year following the appointment of a curator to manage the Fidentia group companies. Tlali says they are in the process of finalising papers for Goodwin's extradition.
Tlali says that once on South African soil, Goodwin will face charges that include fraud, theft and corruption. He says the arrest came about as the Scorpions had issued an alert, which was picked up by Interpol, that a warrant had been secured for Goodwin's arrest.
Meanwhile, the case of Fidentia boss J Arthur Brown is scheduled to be heard on May 2 in the Cape Town Regional Court after being postponed last month to allow the State more time to study affidavits submitted by the Fidentia legal team.
