Sheldean Human's trial is to start on Tuesday

The trial of Andrew Jordaan, the man accused of murdering seven-year-old Sheldean Human, is scheduled to start in the Pretoria High Court on Tuesday.

The State alleges that on February 18 last year Jordaan took the little girl from the home of one of her friends in Pretoria Gardens to the veld about 4km from her mother's home.

There, he allegedly raped and strangled her before throwing her body into a manhole leading to a storm water ditch.

Her decomposed body was found in the ditch behind the Pretoria fresh produce market on March 5.
