The Ginwala enquiry into the fitness of the suspended National Director of Public Prosecutions, Vusi Pikoli, to hold office will be open to members of the public.
The decision was announced after a meeting with Pikoli’s representatives and government today.
The meeting also finalised the format and content of the hearings. Some matters which are pending or sub judice will be heard in camera. The commission is expected to hear public arguments for three days in May.
The commission is investigating the apparent breakdown in the working relationship between Justice Minister Brigitte Mabandla and Pikoli. The initial timeframe mapped out by the commission was March 15.
