The case against Fidentia boss, J Arthur Brown, is to resume in the Cape Town Regional court today. A date is expected to be set for his trial on charges of fraud and theft involving millions of rands.
This follows an earlier postponement of the case, which gave Brown's legal team time to study an affidavit submitted to the State by jailed Fidentia accountant, Graham Maddock. Maddock was Brown's co-accused in the case. He is currently serving an effective seven year jail term after pleading guilty to charges of theft, fraud and money laundering earlier this month.
The charges against Brown relate to R5 million taken from the loyalty card business, Infinity, and R4.5 million from a company that supplied equipment to mines in Zambia. Both companies were controlled by Fidentia.
