Another suspect has been arrested at Mzamba in the Eastern Cape, the scene of 18 murders since October last year. The 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday and will be formally charged today.
Yesterday a 19-year-old learner from Port Edward in KwaZulu-Natal allegedly confessed to four of the murders, including last weekend's murder of a 50-year-old man and his two daughters aged between 20 and 22.
About 17 of the 18 victims were women and had been raped, hacked to death and their private parts removed. A task team set up last week has now arrested two suspects in connection with the spate of murders.
The 19-year-old who confessed yesterday, now faces charges of murder, attempted murder and rape. He will make another appearance on March 18 for a bail application. The 24-year-old man will be formally charged today.
