The case against six men accused of robbing and murdering pensioners in Limpopo has been postponed to May 2 for further investigation. They appeared briefly before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court near Polokwane today.
Petrus Masasane, Cleopas Maboya, Patrick Maboya, David Ramalepe, Joseph Ramashilo and Thomas Mothwa were arrested last month and charged with fraud, robbery, kidnapping and murder. They allegedly targeted pensioners on pension days and robbed them of their money after drugging them.
The suspects allegedly forced some of the victims to disclose their ATM pin codes so they can withdraw money. The victims would then be killed and dumped.
Police spokesperson Malan Nchabeleng says they have arrested a seventh suspect, who has not yet appeared in court.
