Police commissioner Jackie Selebi has declined to comment after appearing in court today on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice. Selebi's attorney Ben Minnaar says he has decided not to say anything at this stage.

Selebi appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court this morning. The National Prosecuting Authority has meanwhile indicated that more charges may be added.

Selebi was not asked to plead and the case was postponed to June 26 for further investigation.
