|
January 24, 2008, 10:45
The case against alleged Skielik shooter Johan Nel was postponed in the Swartruggens District Court today.
Nel, an 18-year-old boy, went on an alleged shooting spree at the Skielik informal settlement last week, killing four people and injuring nine. One of the victims was a three-month-old baby.
Earlier this morning Nel was escorted into the court by heavily armed police. After appearing in court, demonstrators refused to let the suspect leave the court house.
The North West safety and security MEC, Phenye Vilakazi, was also unable to leave the court.
The case was postponed to February 12.
