The Democratic Alliance's Parliamentary leader, Sandra Botha, will visit the troubled Swartruggens area in the North West tomorrow where an 18-year-old youth allegedly shot dead four people. Nine others were wounded in the incident at the Skielik informal settlement on Monday.
Yesterday, the suspect appeared in the Swartruggens Magistrate's Court. The case was postponed to Thursday next week when he is expected to apply for bail. He has been remanded in police custody.
Various organisations in the country, including the South African Human Rights Commission, have deplored the killings.
