Police deployed to Bree taxi rank after shooting

December 07, 2007, 13:00

Police officers have been deployed to the Bree Taxi rank in Johannesburg following yesterdays shooting where one person was killed and two others were injured.

It is alleged that a group of men arrived at the taxi rank and fired shots randomly at people including taxi passengers. A man was killed instantly and a injured woman was rushed to a local hospital.

Police spokesperson Julia Claassen says they have launched a manhunt for the killers and will continue to patrol the rank.
