A car theft syndicate operating in the Durban area has been cracked, police said today. Thulane Zwane, a police spokesperson, said three suspects were arrested and 11 stolen cars seized yesterday in an undercover operation in Durban.
The organised crime unit found the cars in Newlands North and KwaMashu. "The recovered cars were linked to various offences, ranging from house robberies and hijacking in Durban and surrounding areas," he said.
Three suspects were arrested, thought to be members of a criminal syndicate.
