It has been confirmed that the learner who was stabbed earlier today at Zonnebloem Nest Senior School in Cape Town was stabbed with a pair of scissors.
Gert Witbooi, the Western Cape education spokesperson, says the boy is being treated in hospital and is in a stable condition.
On Monday, Mohammed Kannemeyer, a learner at the Eerste River High School in Blackheath, was stabbed to death with scissors allegedly by a fellow learner. In another incident this week at Klawer near Clanwilliam, two boys aged seven and 12 were placed in protective custody for allegedly killing another learner with an axe.
