Police have nabbed four suspects believed to be behind several armed robberies in Fairlands, Honeydew, Sophiatown and Randburg, west of Johannesburg.
The suspects were spotted driving around the Northcliff area. Members of the dog unit task team spotted the four acting suspiciously and pulled the vehicle over.
"The suspects were arrested in the Northcliff area. We seized three 9mm pistols, four cell phones and two five litre drums of petrol. Their vehicle was impounded. The suspects were detained and questioned at Fairlands police station, and will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms. More charges can be brought against them while we continue our investigation,” said Lungelo Dlamini, a police spokesperson.
