Two of the three men facing charges related to the collapse of Saambou Bank are to apply in the Pretoria Regional Court next week to stop further postponements in their pending trial.
Gerhardus de Clercq, Johan Myburgh and Charles Edwards, all former senior Saambou officials, appeared in the court briefly this morning, when the case was postponed by a week.
The State is seeking a postponement of the start of the trial for further investigation. However, Annemarie Friedman, the prosecutor, told the court that De Clercq and Edwards intended to bring an application opposing that application by the State.
The three men face 13 financial charges involving R640 million. - Sapa
