Mkhize condemns ‘bullying’ in ANC

Reading Time: < 1 minute

ANC presidential hopeful Zweli Mkhize has warned against using bullying tactics to prevent branches from nominating their preferred candidates for the party’s national elective conference in December.

He was addressing his party members, religious leaders and the business community in Mtubatuba on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.

Mkhize says imposing candidates on branches would hurt the party during the 2019 general elections.

“If you’re going to bully members of the ANC or the structures beneath you or you’re going to frighten people, or going to manipulate the system”

“When it comes to the national election there’s no way you can bully the voters, there’s no way you can manipulate the electoral processes, there’s no way you can intimidate anyone, there’s no way you can do anything other than fulfilling the will of our people, So this process we are going through is a trial run for justice, for transparency, for accountability that the ANC is known for,” says Mkhize.
