Supporters of former president Jacob Zuma have started to arrive at the Pietermaritzburg High Court ahead of his court appearance later on Friday morning.

Zuma is facing 16 counts of charges including fraud racketeering and money laundering emanating from the controversial multi-million arms deal that happened in the 90s.

He is accused of having taken a bribe from a French company through his financial advisor at that time – Shabir Shaik.

Last month, the case was postponed as the company wanted to make representations to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) as to why the company should not be prosecuted.
