South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark, Zindzi Mandela, will be laid to rest on Friday in Fourways in Johannesburg.
The 59-year-old diplomat died on Monday morning in a Johannesburg hospital.
Her family confirmed that she had contracted the coronavirus.
Mandela’s body will first pass her late mother’s Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s home in Soweto.
A full cortège will then proceed to the Fourways Memorial Park where a service will be held before the burial.
Her sister, Zenani Mandela Dlamini, the Ambassador to South Korea, flew into the country on Wednesday.
Dignitaries including former ministers Nomvula Mokonyane, Jeff Radebe as well as Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema are expected to attend the funeral service.
Mandela will be laid to rest next to her mother and two grandchildren at the Fourways Memorial Park.
This is a difficult time for the family as the burial happens one day before the world celebrates her later father, former President Nelson Mandela’s birthday.

Memorial
The African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) honoured the late South African ambassador to Denmark with a memorial service on Thursday.
The virtual gathering was coordinated by ANC Deputy Secretary, Jessie Duarte.
Freedom Fighter
Coming from a family of struggle heroes, she was active in the country’s fight for freedom from apartheid.
In 1985, State President PW Botha offered Nelson Mandela his freedom on condition that he ‘unconditionally rejected violence as a political weapon’.
His daughter Zindzi in turn read out his rejection letter to a mass gathering in Soweto.
