Zimbabwe kings of 2018 Cosafa Cup

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Sweden based, Philana Kadewere, scored a brace to help the Warriors beat Zambia four-two at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Zimbabwe has now won the title for the sixth time.

Head to head stats between Zambia and Zimbabwe however shows that Zambia has the edge.

Out of forty nine matches, Chipolopolo have won 17, drawn 21 and lost nine.

However, in a final of the Cosafa Cup magnitude, anything is possible.

Zambia developed cold feet in the third minute of the first half and was duly punished.

Four minutes later they equalised and it was game on in the first half.

In the second half, Zambia resorted to the pressure game and were rewarded and with a two- one lead.

Mamelodi Sundowns forward, Khama Billiat, who represented Zimbabwe for the first time in this tournament, made a crucial assist to Philana Kadewere to finish his brace.

The two all score at full time meant that the two sides will battle at extra time.

Zimbabwe got a penalty in the first half of extra time after Billiat was fouled in the box.

The CAF champion’s league medalist made no mistake to make it three-two.

But Billiat was not finished – he scored the fourth goal and silenced the opposition.
