KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala is expected to lead a delegation of the Provincial Members of Executive Council to meet with the AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini in KwaNongoma in the northern part of the province on Thursday.
The king is the ceremonial head of the provincial government.
This is the first time the Members of the Executive Council are meeting the monarch since their appointment.
In a statement Zikalala described the visit as exceedingly vital, adding that His Majesty had over the years played an important role in laying a solid foundation for a stable provincial government.
He added that the AmaZulu King has collaborated with government to foster peace, democracy, and development in the province.
Some members of the Executive Council are new faces in provincial government – including the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Sipho Hlomuka.
