The Co-ordinator of the African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal, Sihle Zikalala has called on all party members in the province to unite behind the elected national leadership, led by  ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Zikalala was speaking at an ANC Youth League rally held in Pietermaritzburg.

The rally is attended by ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule and NEC member Doctor Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

“It is a matter of fact that there is one President of the ANC and that is Cyril Ramaphosa and we all have to unite behind that leadership.”

“We have grown up in the ANC knowing that we can have our own views, but once the conference of the ANC takes place, all of us must unite behind the elected leadership of the ANC, we embrace the leadership in totality.”

Meanwhile, former ANC president Thabo Mbeki has called on party members to give ANC president Ramaphosa a chance.

He was speaking to SABC News in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Earlier Mbeki said he stood ready to support the governing party as it embarks on a renewal process.
