Youth movement urged to restore dignity of Africans

The two-day African Youth Summit held in Pretoria has ended with delegates resolving to immediately form an African youth movement.

The idea of turning the summit into a movement was supported by the event organisers, Graca Machel and the Nelson Mandela Institute for Development.

In her closing remarks, Machel urged the African Youth movement to restore the dignity of Africans.

She says:” All the ideas which were discussed, some of them are already clear and you have adopted them. Even if you have adopted only 10% of the discussions, I would have been completely happy because history is built by one brick at a time. History is not built completed in two days.”

“You are privileged to have the space and this opportunity but please carry in your hearts that there are millions of your brothers and sisters who don’t live in dignity and that is your mission,” adds Machel.
