Women played important role in uniting ANC: Ramaphosa

African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says women have played an important role in uniting the party. He was speaking at an ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) function in Bloemfontein as part of his campaign trail in the Free State.

Ramaphosa says even though women were defeated during the ANC elective conference in 2017, they are fully behind him.

“The ANCWL is in the campaign and is working hard. Now, we have the ANCWL that is leading the campaign and that gives me clear assurance that we are going to win elections.”

Earlier, while addressing residents in a mass meeting at the Caleb Motshabi formal settlement in Bloemfontein, Ramaphosa said he was optimistic that the country’s economy would eventually begin to grow and unemployment will be addressed.

Ramaphosa has urged people to give the ANC a chance again in the May elections to continue with the work it has begun.

Caleb Motshabi is one of the areas that have been experiencing service delivery challenges.
