The assault trial of a self-proclaimed prophet who allegedly sprayed congregants with the insecticide (Doom) is expected to resume in the Naboomspruit magistrate’s court Wednesday.

Lethebo Rabalago is accused of spraying congregants during a church service in Mookgophong in November last year.

On Tuesday, four witnesses testified that their health had suffered.

Rabalago faces two counts of contravening the Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act of 1947.

Under the act, it is illegal to use any agricultural remedy for purposes not intended for.

The act also deems it illegal to publish false information about the workings of any agricultural remedy.

He also faces five charges of assault.

The state is expected to call more witnesses Wednesday.
