The Western Cape has recorded 22 new coronavirus related deaths, taking the province’s death toll to 525 from the virus.
The national number of fatalities is now at 705.

There are 34 357 recorded coronavirus infections in South Africa.
In a statement, the Health Department says they have now conducted over 740 000 tests countrywide.
17 617 of them were conducted overnight.
The Western Cape remains South Africa’s epicentre of COVID-19 with 22 567 confirmed cases. Gauteng trails behind the Mother City with 4 231 cases.
Recoveries are at 17291.
