Francois Cilliers from Willow Creek Olive Estate, Nuy Valley, in the Breede Valley region is the overall winner of the 2019 Western Cape Prestige Agri Awards.
The Prestige Agri Awards recognise the hard work, commitment and dedication of the province’s agricultural workforce.
A total of 1393 agricultural employees from across 16 regions entered the competition this year.

Western Cape Agriculture Minister, Dr Ivan Meyer, has congratulated all the participants, finalists and winners.
“We are celebrating farmers and farm workers in particular because farm workers contribute 10% to the economy in the Western Cape. We also have 17% of the agricultural labour force here in the Western Cape. Farm workers play a significant role in the rural economy of the Western Cape and we are saying thank you to our farm workers for their massive contribution they are making in the economy of the Western Cape.”
