Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana is confident that his team will overcome Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League group stages.

Sundowns have been drawn in the Group C with the Moroccan giants for the past four years. The team have been knocked out by Wydad in the quarterfinals in 2017 and also last year in the semifinals.

The Brazilians have also been drawn against USM Alger from Algeria and Angola’s Petro Atletico. There are eleven former champions in the last 16 this year.

Kekana is very excited.

Sundowns will play against Kaizer Chiefs in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup at FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday.

They will be defending their trophy they won last year. Kekana says they will use the match to prepare for bigger encounters. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
