We are not ready for SuperSport United – Mosimane

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his team is not ready to face SuperSport United in the opening league match at the Lucas Moripe stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday afternoon.

Mosimane says six of his players started training on Tuesday due to the Africa Cup of Nations, while some of his stars such as Gaston Sirino, and new signing Mauricio Affonso will be out due to injuries.

Last season the Brazilians lost key players in attack such as Percy Tau and Khama Billiat. They brought in players such as Lebohang Maboe, Tony Silva and Ali Meza.

Maboe was one of the best signings while the other two did not impress. Mosimane feels that his team will be better this season.

The Brazilians will be involved in many competitions again this season.

They will also return to the champions league after the Supersport match, where they will play against AS Otoho dÓyo of Congo-Brazzaville. Mosimane says they will have to manage the players.

Sundowns have only signed two players in the Uruguayan striker Mauricio Affonso and Nyiko Mobbie from Free State Stars, but Mobbie will be going on loan.

Mosimane says he might still entice players to join the Brazilians before the end of transfer window at the end of the month. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
