The City of Cape Town says the incident of December the 23rd last year when beach goers were asked to leave Clifton Beach was not racially-motivated.
The City has instead accused ANC Western Cape secretary Faiez Jacobs of using the incident to make false claims that beach goers were evicted from the beach based on race.
Mayoral Committee Member Zahid Badroodien was speaking at the hearings of Parliament Portfolio Committee.
