Voting continues at KZN stations

Voting is continuing at across various voting stations in the Umgungundlovu District in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands. The district has over 9 000 voters who have applied for special votes under the seven municipalities, including Mkhambathini, Richmond, Msunduzi, Mpendle, Mpofana, Mshwathi and uMngeni.

The first few hours of voting have been without glitches in the Umgungundlovu District.

Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) District Manager Khulekani Mdadane says no incidents have been reported.

In Howick, IEC officials visited the Amberglen Retirement Village and Frail Care Centre. The elderly residents aged between 70 years-old and 90 -years-old were all smiles as they cast their ballots.

Presiding Officer Brian Sibiya says special care must be taken when assisting the elderly. Party agents are also keeping a close watch as special votes continue.
