Limpopo elderly women’s football team Vhakhegula Vhakhegula received a warm send-off to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
The event was hosted by Limpopo MEC for Sport Arts and Culture Thandi Moraka in Polokwane on Tuesday.

The 25 man group will jet out the country on 10 June 2019 and are scheduled to play their French counterparts in a friendly on 18 June in St Etienne.
South African Elderly Football Association (SAEFA) President Khensani Ntsanwisi says it has been challenging to organise the trip.
Ntsanwisi says the trip means a lot for most of the grannies who will be leaving the country for the first time since the side’s inception 12 years ago.
Ntsanwisi added that Vhakhegula are more popular outside Mzansi and are in demand to play friendlies with their counterparts across the world. – Report by Lethabo Kganyago
