The President of the national Students Representative Council at Unisa, Zandile Sodladla says the university has confirmed that it will extend the registration process.

Two weeks ago, employees downed tools, demanding a wage increase of 12%.

The strike which affected the application and registration processes ended last Friday.

Sodladla says university management met with all stakeholders on Tuesday and information regarding the changes will be communicated to students.

She says: “We had a meeting with the management and we mentioned problems that we are facing as students, that it cannot be that applications are ending today.”

“So they are going extend the registration, its just that they must now communicate with students and say how are they going to extend the registration. We advocated yesterday that they must process all the applications, no student must be excluded, as in now the queues are very long students are coming from all over, they must come and register,’ adds Sodladla.
